Obstetric care includes medical care before conception, throughout pregnancy, during labor and delivery, and after childbirth. Regular obstetric check-ups help monitor the health of both the mother and baby, identify potential complications early, and support a safer pregnancy journey.

A pregnancy may be considered high risk if the mother has conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, thyroid disorders, multiple pregnancies, previous pregnancy complications, advanced maternal age, or certain medical conditions that require closer monitoring to reduce risks for both mother and baby.

The frequency of visits depends on the stage of pregnancy and your overall health. Most women have monthly visits during the first two trimesters, more frequent visits during the third trimester, and additional appointments if the pregnancy is classified as high risk.
